Beech C35 Bonanza

This is one of the most efficient (and recognizable) planes ever built. It was powered by a Continental E185-11 6 cylinder dry sump engine. It produced 205 hp @ 2600 rpm for take off with 185 continuous hp.

The propeller is an 88" electrically controlled prop of Beech's own design for this airframe. There was an optional electronic governor to make it constant speed. When that prop turns 2600 rpm, the tips are traveling at more than 680mph, creating the characteristic "bark" on take off.

It will cruise at 160mph at 10gph carrying 4 passengers and their baggage in comfort. It is much "nicer" to fly than later models due to the weight that they gained. (Gross weight was 900lbs lighter than an A36)
